Jordan and Lauren’s whimsical, colorful, elegant and simple brewery wedding at Hi-Wire Brewery in Asheville, NC wedding was fun, creative, DIY, and full of unique elements that perfectly told their love story. From their first dance song to “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias and cake cutting to Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar We’re Going Down,” this colorful brewery wedding is going to be tough to top.
To say Lauren and Jordan are radiant and in love is an understatement. The couple wanted their day to feel like one big party and with that in mind, the first and easiest decision they made was to have their wedding at a brewery. The personal touches, DIY projects, and inspiration came from their love of beer, each other, and the colors in Lauren’s stunning French Connection wedding dress which she saw on one of 100 Layer Cake’s Instagram Stories.
First looks are so special. I encourage all couples to have a first look. They are a sweet, intimate moment between you and your partner.
Lauren and Jordan officially met at a party in college but she had actually been crushing on Jordan from afar for months before then. Her best friend and roommate at the time (and her maid of honor!) had seen him around their apartment complex and told her all about him and how beautiful he was. They became friends after that, and both dated other people, until about a year later at a different party when we decided that they actually did really like each other and we should maybe start dating. After about six years of being together, Jordan proposed.
From Lauren: “We were in Asheville, NC for a weekend trip, staying at a bed and breakfast and hopping around to different breweries. That Saturday, we visited probably eight breweries and drank entirely too much beer when we finally had dinner and took a cab back to the Airbnb. Jordan drew a bath to wind down before bed but used WAY too many bubbles, so we ended up battling a mountain of bubbles and cleaning up a huge mess instead of relaxing. I thought it was hilarious. When it was all over, Jordan started rustling around in a pile of clothes and when I asked him what he was doing, he turned around with a ring! I was completely caught off guard and blurted out “What is that?!”
Jordan worked with La Kaiser, a designer out of Chicago whose jewelry Lauren had drooled over forever, to create a custom opal and diamond engagement ring.
Unique elements of their day included a first dance to “Hero” by Enrique Iglesias, cake cutting to “Sugar We’re Going Down” by Fall Out Boy, cactus and crystal centerpieces envisioned and executed by the bride, mix-matched grey bridesmaids dresses, and perfectly coordinated colors of the brewery and surrounding area.
While the couple had a first look, Jordan still cried during the ceremony, sending wedding party, guests, and photographers into tears! The most anticipated moment for the couple was the ceremony. The whole ceremony was special and full of little fun facts and jokes about their relationship throughout. “We wrote our own vows to each other which were both a little funny and super sweet.”
I hope you enjoy all of the little details and moments in these Hi-Wire Brewery wedding photos, and that Jordan and Lauren’s giddy, emotional, young love inspires your heart the way that it does mine!
