2017 has been an incredible year! I met 17 incredible couples, captured your authentic memories, and celebrated with the best of ’em. Thank you for being here. Let’s take a look back at some of my favorite and most unforgettable moments. I turned 30 this year and celebrated with some glitter!
One of my 2018 couples got engaged during the total eclipse of the sun that happened here in Columbia, South Carolina. What a magical moment to have experienced and big congratulations to them.
Beaufort Inn in Beaufort South Carolina created a perfect backdrop for this intimate and dreamy wedding. Kate did her own makeup, found this beautiful dress from Anthropologie, and celebrated with her closest friends and family. This quiet candid was taken during our exploration of the waterfront after they said ‘I do.’
Folly Beach adventure elopements? YES PLEASE!
A challenge I set for myself this year was to be more creative during portrait sessions. As a film photographer, double-exposure is easy, and I was excited that my camera had the capabilities of creating these images in camera. A lot more practice is needed, but I would call these a success! In 2018 I hope to have more couples willing and excited about creative portraits.
It’s all about the details. From planning, picking out colors, DIY table settings, and pretty flowers.
Wedding planning by Alisha Millwood of Amazing Moment did an incredible job on this simple and colorful cake.
Who doesn’t love a twist on the naked cake? Wedding planning by Holly of Perfect Touch Event Planning & Design.
Amanda McCarthy and Duvall Catering & Events set up three beautiful bundt cakes for Kate & Craig.
I love dogs. I love when couples ask if their dog can be a part of their engagement session or wedding. This year, I met a lot of cute dogs.
If you haven’t, check out Lauren and Jordan’s Charlotte engagement session here.
Personal photographs are just as important in fueling my creativity. Here are my favorite snapshots from my solo trip to London.
There are so many favorites from Crystal and Thorton’s romantic River Road and Jasmine House wedding. But, this one is pretty dreamy, don’t you think?
Leah and Coleman had a colorful and simply elegant wedding at the historic wedding venue, 701 Whaley.
Tattooed brides for the win. Carolyn and Joe were nothing but smiles at Studio Cellar in the Vista of downtown Columbia.
Wintergreen Woods on a pretty spring day, what could be better for a wedding?
Corley Mill House and Garden created a perfect backdrop for this spring wedding. Look how happy Emily and Herb are!
Picking a favorite from Emily and Jesse’s fall wedding at the historic Seibels House and Garden was impossible. Their full day will be showing up on this blog pretty soon, so keep your eyes out for it in 2018
Fall weddings are some of my favorite. Carly and Josh got married at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center at Johns Island County Park outside of Charleston, South Carolina.
The year ended with a surprise proposal at the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion. Congratulations again, Kurt and Caroline!
